2. Information we collect
When you contact us through our website, we collect the information you choose to provide, which may include:
- your name
- your email address
- the topic of your enquiry
- the content of your message
- any additional information you include in your enquiry
Our website infrastructure also processes limited technical information, such as your IP address, browser information and details of the pages you request, to operate and protect the website.
3. How we use your information
We use your personal information to:
- respond to general enquiries
- discuss custom design work, products and potential projects
- prepare quotations and respond to requests for our services
- maintain relevant correspondence
- operate and protect our website and contact form
- understand how our website is used, through privacy-focused analytics
- meet applicable legal obligations
We will not add you to a marketing mailing list simply because you contact us. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties, and we do not use it for automated decision-making.
4. Our legal basis for processing
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), we rely on the following lawful bases:
- Legitimate interests: to respond to general enquiries, communicate with people who contact us, and maintain the security and operation of our website.
- Contractual necessity: where you request a quotation, discuss a potential order, or ask us to take steps towards providing a product or service.
- Legal obligations: where we must retain or process information to comply with applicable laws.
You do not need to provide personal information to browse our website. However, we need enough contact information to respond to an enquiry.
5. Who processes your information
We use a small number of trusted providers to run our website and deliver your messages. They process information on our behalf and only as necessary to provide their services.
- Cloudflare hosts our website and runs the code that receives contact form submissions. It also processes the technical information described in section 2 to operate and protect the website, and provides the privacy-focused analytics described in section 8.
- Resend, an email delivery service operated by Plus Five Five, Inc., delivers contact form messages to our inbox.
- Our email provider stores the messages we receive and send.
Resend processes information under a Data Processing Addendum and uses technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information. It stores email content and related delivery information on servers in the United States, and normally retains email content and delivery logs for 30 days.
Some of our providers may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards, such as contractual protections and the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
You can read more about Resend’s privacy practices in its privacy policy and GDPR information.
6. How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary.
For general enquiries that do not lead to an order or ongoing project, we keep your information for up to 12 months after our last correspondence.
Where an enquiry leads to a transaction or ongoing business relationship, we may keep relevant correspondence and records for longer, normally up to six years where necessary for accounting, contractual or legal purposes.
Information processed by Resend is subject to its own retention arrangements, as described in section 5.
7. Keeping your information secure
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure. Access to correspondence is limited to those who need it for legitimate business purposes, and we use reputable service providers and appropriate security measures.
Although no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security, protecting your information is important to us.
8. Cookies, analytics and external websites
Our website does not set its own cookies and does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may set strictly necessary cookies to protect the website from abuse.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how our website is used, for example how many people visit, which pages they view and which websites referred them. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites and does not build a profile of you. We use it on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding and improving our website.
If we introduce other analytics, advertising or non-essential tracking technologies, we will provide appropriate information and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Our website links to third-party services, including eBay, Instagram, YouTube, X and Telegram. These services operate independently and have their own privacy policies, which we recommend reviewing when you visit them.
9. Your data protection rights
Under UK data protection law, you may have the right to:
- request access to the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct inaccurate information
- request deletion of your information
- ask us to restrict certain processing
- object to processing based on legitimate interests
- request a copy of your information in a portable format, where applicable
These rights are subject to certain legal conditions and exceptions. To exercise your rights, or to raise a concern about how we handle your information, please contact us using the details in section 1.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our website and services develop or as legal requirements change. Any updates will be published on this page, with the date of the latest revision shown above.
